Well-known urban planner and author, William Fulton, is set this week to make a presentation before the Riverside City Council. The presentation will take place Jan. 14 from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the City Council chambers located at City Hall (3900 Main Street). The city is in the process of updating its general plan.

He has participated in local studies and also given keynote speeches, such as “Sprawl Hits The Wall In The Inland Empire” during the State of the Inland Empire conference in Sept. 2002.

Fulton is regarded as one of the nation’s leading researchers on urban planning, metropolitan growth, and economic development. His books include The Reluctant Metropolis: The Politics of Urban Growth in Los Angeles (2001) and Guide to California Planning (1991).
