Small boutiques add flavor to downtown pedestrian mall

One of the charms of downtown Riverside is the handful of small, one-of-a-kind shops, boutiques, bars and eateries, most of which are located on or near the Main Street pedestrian mall.

Two such clothing boutiques — The Parrott and Toni Moore — were spotlighted this week by reporter Laurie Lucas of The Press-Enterprise.

Owned by Terry Elliott and Toni Moore respectively, the neighboring shops at the corner of Sixth and Main streets (near the Mission Inn) make it a point to design and sell custom, American-made clothing. The owners are proud of their distinctive designs and loyal customers — and of their long-time presence downtown (The Parrott since 2004 and Toni Moore for the past 27 years).

So, if you haven’t been downtown lately, do so and be sure to check out these two boutiques as well as the various other shops and eateries (both old and new) and enjoy a part of what makes downtown Riverside a unique spot in Southern California.
